But yeah, the door locking mod has the least cheese temptation potential( unless you deliberately lock them in). It's a good mod.
Yes. They'll run to the nearest eating spot when they're hungry, and usually that means your dining room. And the main trader will bring all their filthy animals with them, who have saved all their excrement for the shiniest floor they can find. Give them a place to eat closer to where they are, and they'll use it. Just in case you get two caravans at once, I'd advise seating for something like 12-16 filthy caravaneers. 2-3 2x1 tables with some stools should do fine.
