Kind of "cheaty" but good way for maze type kill rooms
If you're someone that uses a maze type entrance with traps to a kill room, here is a tip if you want it actually followed instead of attacked.

For any walls that you have for your maze entrance, use the "give up" button on the wall. I'm not sure if it's a mod, I think it might be part of the base game. It's the opposite of the "claim" flag in my game.

That way, they'll follow the maze in but won't attack the walls. Just remember that if you build doors in the entrance not to give them up because they'll walk through. And claim the walls back if you need to fix.

Kind of cheaty, but for those of us that like turtle friendly raids, it's helpful.

Wow, use of mods may result in easier game play. Hard to believe it took this long to figure out.

I'm afraid that's a mod specific feature so it's not available to players without that mod. There is no way to 'give up' structures that you own otherwise.

And? I said that it might be in my post.

Whether it's a mod or not is immaterial.

Not everyone knows what it can be used to do.

Honestly though he has a point.
This mod feature is pretty cheaty given the implication it has on the AI and how differently it treats owned and unowned objects.

At this point you could recommend outright cheating as well as an advice... =/

On the surface the mod seems super exploity, disowning your walls makes the AI stupid and dumps your structural wealth.

However it also seems of limited use. Structural wealth is already calculated at a reduced value so you won't get that much by dumping it. You also can't use unclaimed doors, so unless you wall yourself in completely, you will always have vulnerable points. The mod won't even stop breecher raids, as those raids will path through anything to get to you, including mountains and unclaimed walls.

It sorta makes the advice in this topic dubious at best. Especially considering the mod was never linked or named.

It is purely a cheat mod, simple as.

Yeah, it's like - pro tip - use modded turrets behind embrasures to trivialise raids, if that doesn't work use dev mode to despawn the raiders.

Now that's just crazy talk, "damage until down" let's you take all that phat lewt.

I'm pretty sure it doesn't decrease your structure wealth, either, the only use it has is to make the AI not attack your stuff. If it did decrease your structure wealth I guess that'd just make it even more of a cheat anyway.

Raiders not supposed to avoid walls that you have built. You probably should report to the mod maker that raiders avoid walls that you give up on so they don't do it anymore, because that's probably an oversight.

That's not an oversight, that's the entire point of the mod.

Build a moat, then you can own your castle and also your colonists will repair it when it gets damaged.
