Only in biotech I believe. They don't really "lay" eggs, there"s just an event where wastepacks left in the open will start an insect infestation by spawning huge coccoons, that only hatch if someone walks close by. Problem is, you get a letter when the eggs appear, but not when they hatch, so if some random trader or raider triggers the whole egg colony the game doesn't tell you and doesn't slow down, and it can lead to insect killing one of your pawns or entering your colony before you can prepare your defenses
It happens way more often than it should.
Meanwhile my level 18 gunner can't land a shot to save his life using an Excellent Sniper rifle on raiders that are out in the open.
Also the fact the game is singlethreaded in 2023 which makes it run like crap even on best hardware.
Also whoever coded the asset loader should never touch any IDE ever again, and preferably change their profession.
Also base game lacks content and gets repetitive very fast. Sure mods make up for it easily, but why do I pay ~100 euro for a base game, when it's the community made mods that make it playable in the long run?
And don't get me started on the abysmal state of QoL features in this game. From the UI to basic actions such as ability to set preferred weapon for a pawn. Is it really that hard to hire an actual UI/UX designer full time, with the money this game is making? Or to write additional 100 lines of C# to allow for most basics interactions with pawns?
Now that's off my chest. Thanks for listening to my TED talk.
