Unity crash error 2019.4.30f1_e8c891080a1f
Hi all. I haven't been able to play properly for several months now.

The error pops up regularly. Currently at initiation. Right on launch. Previously, the same problem was when generating a map.

I have a large mod pack installed. Mostly from the extended vanilla series. However, all of them do not display any conflicts, both in the discussion of the mods themselves, and when using the mod manager and RimPy.

I've tried disabling mods one by one. Got rid of the most controversial mods just in case. However, the result is still random. Sometimes the game starts, but without the mods I need. A clean version without mods always starts.

I have reinstalled the game many times. Including on SSD. Repeatedly carried out verification. Downloaded mods. Unsubscribed and re-subscribed. Installed mods in the local game folder instead of the workshop folder. I have updated the drivers.

My system information:

NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 SUPER

Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E3-1230 V2 @ 3.30GHZ

16 GB RAM

Who had such a problem? Help me please.

A log might help, but if you're getting a Unity error, it also might not.

this error doesn't have a lot of detail and could be common on systems that could have corrupted memory or corrupted video memory.

this error coild happen more commonly wikth mods since they could use more memory than vanilla, exposing the issue in those cases then.

How to get it?

How to check this option?

I have the same error as you, apparently Rimworld takes 95% of the RAM, and thankfully I found a solution: You should delete the mod config so the game doesnt crash, but you'll have to put the mods all over again, then open the game, go to settings and enable compressed textures or something liike that (it will make more space for the RAM) and finally and most important Don't use fullscreen. I hope this helps you fix the problem :D

I tried, but it didn't work.

In any case, thanks a lot for your reply.

Problem was solved. Increased the paging file (swap file) to 10 gigabytes.

I'm having the same problem. Any other suggestions ?

Increase the paging file, works like a charm

Been chasing this error for 5 ish days or 8h of rimword startup/modpack trobuleshooting. Read and tried almost everything except increasing paging file. This error occured when i started the game after a 2 week pause. It manages to launch with 100 mods now tho! But not with 300+ mods like it did for 1000h before i took a pause.

I have only 8gb ram and paging is set to auto, so i assume increasing over actual ram amount is a bad idea?

Does this simply mean my ram is fxcked then?

If you're using a lot of mods like I am then it might be that you just don't have enough ram. Rimworld seems to very very ram-hungry; When I had 16gb of ram and when I reached a certain amount of mods the game would take ages to start up and then crash; upgrading to 32gb of ram fixed the problem for me.

Yeah just saw that my usable ram is at 5gb, odd that it worked before. But then i assume that my ram stick just had a hard time those 2 weeks lol, served me for many years. Makes sense.

Where is this file located?

On Windows, it's on the root of whatever drive Windows decides to put it on (and it'll be flagged as hidden and probably system, so you have to enable showing both if you want to see it), but that's not how you configure how large it is. For that, you go to Advanced System Settings, the Advanced tab (if it didn't open to it), the Settings... button under Performance, then the Advanced tab of that window, then Change..., then you'll have to uncheck "Automatically manage paging file size for all drives," select whatever drive, switch it from "System managed size" to "Custom size," then enter whatever size you want and hit "Set."

Could you elaborate on what increasing manually actually does as opposed to leaving it on auto mode? And examples of amount thats recommended for 8, 12, 16, 32gb ram etc?
