I made my xenotype ugly and now they all hate each other.
I have a colony of only my custom melee xenotype but they hate each other because i made them horribly ugly. This results in constant social fights, and with them all being absolute melee gods it sometimes ends in pretty bad injuries. What do i do about this?

Making the xenotype kind or dead calm will prevent that, kind will also allow them to socialise and have lovers because it negates the beauty issue.

Seems like there oughta be an option in the Ideology department to 'like' Ugly ppl, or something like it...

The easiest and cheapest option is to remove everyone's tongues. They will stop socializing which means they will stop social fighting, mood will also improve since the slights and insults will also stop.

For a longer term solution, in addition to what Khan said you can also extract a beauty gene from a "guest" or buy one from a trader and then install that in all your ugly colonists, it will cancel the ugly. Aesthetic noses and shapers are another option, they add a total of +2 beauty which will counter the -2 beauty from the gene.

The other option, is not a serious option, but something that should technically work. You can remove everyone's eyes. This wont have as much an effect on melee combat as you'd think, but is still a significant penalty, and obviously makes everything else they do much worse/slower. Removing eyes instead of tongues would allow them to potentially build relations with each other.

but in reality....if you have aggressive pawns, and give them ugly to make them dislike each other, well....you got EXACTLY what you asked for.

You're effectively asking how you completely disable the only drawback of both the ugly genes and the aggressive genes.....the answer is "mod it or don't use them"

Now I'm only assuming you gave your people aggressive or hyper aggressive, despite it being a very dangerous prospect on super melee fighters, and if you did, then you can't also use "dead calm" - which completely solves the social fights, but not the social problems (you're not likely to get many babies with an entire staggeringly ugly colony). The other suggestion, to give them the "kind" gene, CAN be used with aggressive, and does the opposite: it solves the social issues, but they can still social fight (kind people don't alter their opinion based on looks, and don't insult....but they can still BE insulted, and they can still try to convert, which can lead to fights)

This is why Wasters end up starting a social fight while they are on you map half they time when they are raiding. Ugly + Aggressive

Lol, I noticed this too and made a mod to deal with it.

If you're not averse to mods, I have three suggestions for you. The first two are genes, the third one changes social fights.
The first is to download Vanilla Saurids; they have a pheromones gene which makes holders more attractive to each other.
The second mod option is, xenogerm reincarnation; the goblinoid gene makes holders like each other more but nonholders dislike them by the same amount - this is my personal solution.
The third option is to use Ugh You got me mod. This mod makes social fights less lethal. Pawns will stop early if they're lovers, if they're in a lot of pain, if they're dying, or if they lose a limb during the fight and are bleeding. It will also prevent social fights if they'll immediately stop- such as if they're currently a few hours away from death.

The other solution is to pretend you're Sauron - baby sit your dudes like they're orcs. What would Sauron or Saruman do?

This reminds me of possibly the only thing CK3 did right.

Many negative traits are seen poorly by everyone, except the people who have them, sometimes they even give a positive bonus towards people with the same problems.

jesus christ this game has mods for every situation
why iam even wondering after these mods allow to shoot prisorers as mortar shells

I saw a mod a couple days ago for using babies as mortar shells. Even had genes for making incendiary babies, smoke babies, toxic babies and so on.

This can be a peculiar community.
