Create Hussars, Genies, & Highmates.
Is it possible to recreate those xenotypes using the gene assembler? I don't mean like just slap on the exact genes the xenotypes have, put on a label and call it a day. I mean recreate them fully so the game would consider them as a Hussar or Genie, rather then a custom race called "Hussar" or "Genie"? A colony I'm currently running has Baseliners, Hussars and Genies as preferred Xenotypes and I was wondering if it's possible to actually do that so I don't need to get all my Hussars and Genies from captures.

Yes, sort of.

Then, no lol

There are no "premade" xenogene templates available in the game that you can purchase and use on a pawn to turn them into one of the preexisting types either. You can recreate the exactly and name them "Hussar" or "Genie". Thats about it.

But there is nothing that can be done in the game to cause them to be recognized as "the same" as the AI generated pawns that have the preexisting templates.

We actually kinda just had this discussion. "how to venerate a race" or something like that...
The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

I'm still testing, but I think you might have to go the natural route. Aka, using not xenogenes but endogenes via reproduction. I'd assume HIghmate + Highmate = Highmate.

Then again, go into dev mod and give one of them the gene implanter organ from the sanguinophages and see if it changes the label.

I dunno about hussars, but highmates are just normal humans, in terms of reproduction. All the 'high mate' stuff was added to them later in life, aka xenogenes.

So you've had two high mates bind and produce a child that was a baseliner?

Exactly.
Also, Highmate + Baseliner = Baseliner.

Highmate genes are xenogenes and do not pass on to children, and the xenotype name does not pass on either.

I knew the xenogenes wouldn't pass, but I figured the subspecies name would. Good to know.

I just need to load some test colonies and see if all the new xenotypes do that. (Although it would be really odd if ones like Yttakin don't pass through.)
