Anomaly and Biotech questions
Hello,
I came back to this masterpiece after a long pause. I have anomaly and biotech dlcs and I am wondering two things about the expansions.
1 - When I start new game there is an option called "Xenotype editor" is it from the biotech dlc or it is from the base game?
2 - I noticed that anomaly dlc adds a new separate research tree. Does the biotech do the same or it adds additional nodes in the original research tree (I can't find biotech tab on the research)
Thank you in advance!

1 - xenotype editor is biotech, you don't really need to touch it until you know what you're doing, it's just in case you want to create weird custom games starting with non-humans, instead of working your way up to learn genes

2 - There's no biotech research tab. There are a few biotech projects to complete in the initial tab though, like the mechtech stuff, deathrest, growth vats, fertility procedures, the genes, etc. Overall much less research than in anomaly, obviously

Hi,

Xenotypes are from Biotech.

Biotech research is done via the standart research bottom line after you researched electro techniks. It has 3 stages I belive. Basic, Advanced and ancient (needed for Vampier gens).

In addition to what Schakar wrote, there are a few other researches woven into the research tab, like the Deathrest research. IIRC Anomaly also has at least one technology (Security Doors) in the main research tab.
The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

Anomaly only has a separate tab as you don't research it at a bench. You study the monolith and/or creatures to gain points based on the research type on what ever you are researching.

I did not understand about the 3 stages. You mean 3 stages of research or something else?

he's talking about research projects, some of them have 3 stages, unlocking stronger stuff each time

genes have 3 tiers, mechs too. Same way you have to research harp before getting harpsicord and piano in royalty for example
