Ah sorry, I was not aware of the SteamCMD integration. RimPy does have a "downloader" tab which opens a workshop browser and gives you an option to do a manual download of a specific mod using SteamCMD, basically identical to what the OP was doing previously. It also has a "check for updates" button, but as far as I can tell it's an isolated system not connected to your subscribed mods or existing mod management. I don't have SteamCMD so it doesn't do anything for me (and is probably why I blanked on that entire tab), but I assume you have to manually download a mod using the SteamCMD downloader system to keep it on that list, and then it can check that list of mods for updates using SteamCMD when you request it to. It's not an automatic updater, and technically I was correct when I said RimPy can't download mods (it uses SteamCMD to do so), but if you want to stick with manual downloads it might make the process easier than whatever tool you were using before.

I still think my original suggestion would be easier, stay subscribed to the mods and use RimPy to create a local pack you can play offline. The mods stay updated automatically for when you need them, your local modpacks stay isolated, work offline, and don't update unexpectedly. Workshop mods still exist on your drive while you are offline, you can manually copy them to your mods folder and use them if you want, and RimPy can I assume still manage them just fine while offline.

Forgive, been a bit since I played Rimworld. Yep, it uses steamCMD & can convert. So I kept all my stuff in local folder. When I configured it properly it could see my list of mods and create something like 'timestamps'? It'll go through the list and show what's available to update when you check for update. You can actually decide if you want to update a specific mod or not too. All that works for existing mods.

I thought the update feature with steamCMD was the main appeal for this program. lol I don't like mass updating without knowing the details and it'll depend on the mod if I want to update or not, this mod was the best option for that sort of thing.

So it doesn’t do it automatic , or if it does , I’ll need to stay online , I want to be able to take screenshots so I want to use steam while playing but I want to be able to play offline and upload the screenshots later , I understand rimpy won’t let me update mods and keep playing offline , like nexus mod manager does(or vortex) if I play offline with steam subscribed mods , then , the mods won’t be loaded unless I’m online , which will Ruin my saves obviously

It doesn't sound like you're using a local copy. The mods don't load because it's trying to access mods from the workshop folder & you do need to be online for that.. I'm not good at explaining these things but I'll try.

If you backup rimworld and all the workshop mods to a different location, then you can play with the mods offline. You'd luanch the rimworld.exe from that folder, not from the icon on steam. Steam will still notice that you're playing the game if in offline mode. You are able to take screenshots too as long as the overlay is enabled. You can also override rimworld save data folder. I imagine there is a video on youtube that shows you how to do these things.

Those mods won't auto-update, neither will the game itself. You could utilize Rimpy to help you easily update the mods you 'backed up' as shown earlier in the video I shared.

That’s just all too much information
