A few questions for shield belts?
How do these things work exactly I mean I have one of my pawns equipped with the belt and is a melee unit I get that but what kind of bullets can be blocked and which ones should I avoid slash dodge? Also do these things decay as they are used and I would need to get/ make another one? And the last thing I want to ask is what is the best way to kill enemies that have these belts I am currently using no mods or anything like that if that information helps.

All attacks that aren't melee attacks are blocked by it, though I think they can still be lit on fire by molotovs and inferno cannons. This includes explosions from any source (though Doomsday rockets have multiple explosions, and I think turret explosions are 2 explosions simultaneously, so they won't be fully blocked).
Also, if there is any shield left, the attack will be completely blocked. It doesn't matter how much it overkills the shield.

The item itself is not damaged by use, so you will never need to replace them.

To kill someone with them, either use melee attacks, shoot them MORE until the shield breaks, or use EMP weapons to instantly disable any shields caught in the blast radius.

Thanks for answering my question this helps alot had a save file with a few enemies with belts and did not know how to deal with them that and I know now the limits of the belts so I can use them with out my pawns getting killed.

If you have the Royalty DLC the Zeus Hammers can be considered to be shield breakers. Not only do they get the benefit of being melee, they also have a built in EMP function when they're used in combat. They wreck mechanoids too.

Oh right, there is one oddity you can use to fight shield belts as well: firefoam poppers/shells.
For whatever reason, detonating a firefoam popper or firefoam shell will disable personal shields within the blast radius, which is quite large. Since it doesn't deal any damage otherwise, it's safe to use near your pawns and structures, unlike explosives, and the blast radius is MUCH larger than EMP weapons.
