But you can keep themin separate rooms. They will have a mood penality for not sleeping together but I would imagine that that penality is lighter then having an ascetic in a wealthy/impressive bedroom or an aristocrat in a poor room.
Ascetic is always a negative trait in the long run, the best mood they get is +5 for an awful bedroom, and no bonuses for fine/lavish meals, while it's pretty easy to get rooms to +6-7 impressiveness for other colonists. Early game you can throw them in a closet and they will be great, but late game with sky-high expectations you will struggle a little to keep their mood up compared to anyone else. That's not to say it's a trait to avoid, it's workable, just it's not going to be great either way.
