taming the insect queen
Got an infestation and jelly's got their asses kicked.

After i destroyed all her little buddies and the queen wanders the mines and my pawns get the option to tame her. Really low chance 3,8% for my lvl 13 animal pawn, but maybe i get an inspiration. Is it worth keeping her around until then?

And if i tame her, can she make nests and breed those creepy bugs, eat all those corpses and multiply until the insect army rules the rim again?

I'm kinda tempted to try

IIRC if you tame her she wont make new nests or insects, but she does supply you with royal jelly on a regular basis. She is not great at combat compared to a lot of the bugs added by that mod, more of a utility pet.

Queen? What queen would that be?
and no... even if you could tame a megaspider, the amount of maintenance and handling would be unreal, plus the high chance of them turning wild again, makes the prospect far too risky.
Just burn them, wall in the spawn point, set up incendiary IED's inside and that's that.

I see several non-vanilla insectoids in that screenshot and the queen is one of them. You might have destroyed the specific hive she was tied to but taming bugs is dangerous and usually not worth it. Especially with a still active infestation going on.

That is from vanilla factions expanded - Insectoids mod you may want to look at that to see if you can tame them. i have not tried to tame the queen yet i tried that befor and end up failing and regretted it she instantly killed two of my people in an madhunt.

Figures it was from factions expanded - so maybe that's why more insects spawned even when hives were still recharging - queen birthed em.
The queen is actually not that aggressive, unless she aggros. My pawn tried and failed taming her, but only got hit twice Or is was lucky and its all RNG

I say if you can do something why not try? I've only ever gotten to tame insects a few times in rimworld, but when I can do it safely I always try to because I just like them.
