RimWorld

Here's my tribal base. Judge it :D
Last time I played Rimworld was back in 2018 and I never made it far, mostly because I had headaches messing around with electricity.(Still do lol). I'm on year 3? lost tribe run, my personal opinion it's way easier than crashlanded except the picking pawns part.. very proud of my progress so far...

Here's my base: https://prnt.sc/26krfvf

If anyone has a suggestion to improve my defences and placement or belittle my base feel free to comment lol.

Someone will come to advise you to switch fully to stone floors and walls. Oh wait, that's me I guess.

I'm no expert so I've not much else to add, but I'd consider moving the animal pen away from the perimeter wall. Got too many nightmares of wall breaches causing animals to flee into the night when I move to intercept intruders; while mine were caused by breacher zombies from Zombieland, I figure it's going to be the same if it's a sapper raid. They just beeline for the exit even if enemies are shooting right at the gap.

Wood floors inside my base don't really bother me yet since I got no electricity or pyromaniacs. My prison is all wood now cuz it didn't help spreading fire/burning or heatstroking the previous raid who landed pods INSIDE the SMALL prison crushing all 3 of my prisoners to death in the process.

Thanks for the pen tip I'll definitely do that.

Main threats from building with wood are incendiary shells from sieges. You get a siege, send your units to deal with it, the enemies manage to finish a mortar and fire it before you kill enough of them to stop the siege, now your base is on fire while all or most of your colonists are halfway across the map. It's not impossible to work with, I've done all wood bases for RP reasons a few times and it's manageable, just something to be aware of if most of your base is flammable.

That’s a nice map and a solid base.

Since you can’t lock man hunters out you might find yourself cut off from that barracks in the south and your temple.

I assume you’ll be moving your butchering bench out of the kitchen?

For the kill boxes that are next to each other in the southeast you run the risk of enemies coming through one and getting in behind you.

Having multiple open entrances also exposes you to raids that come in as separate groups.

Never made it this far into the game, at the end of year 2 a raid had a sapper and punched through my west wall, there were 9 guns and 1 molotov burned my prison again which is cool, my berserker with exc. shield and marine armor barely saved the day since I had only 4 defenders. I'll probably finish digging out the west mountain and make a massive trap killbox. Remove the 3 kill boxes south and make a long central one for my long ranged guys.

Thanks for the tips guys.
