Does the floor tile under the door to a room affect the room?

I'm curious about this as well.

You could test it if you have a pawn with a title that requires "fine" flooring by not doing the tile under the door and see if they still are unhappy about it. I've yet to remember not to floor that tile in order to answer this same question myself.

My 11x11 laboratory has a cleanliness of .6 with one door having dirt under it and the other having marble tile under it, the interior tiles are all sterile. Sterile tile has a cleanliness of .6, so I would assume the door tiles don't affect the interior. I'm going to sterile tile my 4x4 kitchen and see if it works on smaller rooms.

I posted this question before my lab was finished lol

yeah it doesn't average the cleanliness with the door tile, that makes sense because the room stats toggle only outlines the interior of the room. but I did notice that when there is dirt only inside the door tile and nowhere else it did affect the room, maybe dirt has a multi tile area of affect.

When you built your hospital it is a good idea to have the room for surgery a little bit bigger. I think something about 5x6 is a good number so that cleanliness doesnt drop below clean even if the patient loses some blood during the surgery. But I dont know for sure. It might be a bit bigger you have to give it a try.

Nah I just have dirt floor prisons to do surgery in, also I just failed catastrophically twice in a row on the same patient...

They shouldn't be bleeding at all when you perform surgery. If it fails they'll probably start bleeding but by then it doesn't matter if the room is clean or not.
Larger hospitals are to keep it cleaner in the aftermath of a raid or infestation and people are bleeding all over the place.

Since another user already answered, "no," I'll just add that it's probably best to make all door tiles basic concrete floors purely for wealth management purposes.

I make them the same material as the wall and as the floor tiles in the rooms nearby.
