Lategame Performance.
Lately I am trying to Improve my Lategame Performance.
And I found something Weird happening.

If I abandon my Base and Found a New One.
My Performance goes Up Dramatically. It Literally Doubles from about 70 Ticks per Second to 150 Ticks per Second.

Even tough I take all my 150 Colonists along with me.

If I Park most of my Colonists in an Outpost (Mod) and Found a New Base with about 40 Colonists. I will even get Full Speed again being able to Run at Full 3x Arrow Speed of 360 Ticks per Second. (720 when all Pawns Sleep)

Yet. Even if I move all my Pawns except 5 of them to the Outpost from my Main Base.
My Main Base will still only Run at about 120 Ticks per Second.

So it seems that alot of the Performance Hits does not actually come from my Colonists.
But rather comes from my Base.

So I tried Experimenting with that as well.
By for example just Removing all my Stockpiles and Sending them to the Outpost.
Thus not having any Items around.
Yet that Seems to do Literally nothing to make my Base less Laggy.

I also Killed all my Animals to See if that does something. But its having 0 Effect.

I am planning to try and basicly remove all Romms so it doesnt Calculate Rooms anymore.
As well as Removing all Beds so it doesnt Calculate Sleeping Spots.

Anyone an Idea what makes Bases Lag ?
Is there something that makes old Bases Especially Lag maybe ?

I mean there must be a Reason that a New Base has so much better Performance despite other Factors being Equal.

Pls Note.
I am using alot of Mods.
Including Performance Mods.

Performance is Roughly the same as my Vanilla Games with Similar Sized Bases.
And Partially actually Better thanks to the Performance Improvement Mods.
So keep that in Mind.

Generally it's the size and complexity of the base and the impact that has on pathfinding, for both your colonists/pets and wild animals. A base that is a giant maze will have a pretty substantial effect on performance compared to a similar size base that is an open grid. Though in my experience this is mostly multiplicative with number of colonists and not as impacted by wild animals, but I haven't done any testing on it in a while.

I would immediately suspect you have some modded element in your old base that is hogging resources and causing your 120 TPS, my game never gets anywhere near that low late game and I don't use any "performance mods," though I never have 150 colonists either. You say performance is similar in your vanilla games, but I'm not sure how that would be, though it's possible one of your performance mods is taking some effect from having 150 colonists and caching it in some way so that it's still having some effect even when they aren't on the map, and that cache is lost when the map is deleted.
