How do I stop my pawn from going and dyeing their hair?
Hi, I want my pawns to just keep their natural hair color and stop with the dye, but they always go re-dye when it starts to fade. How can I stop them? (I've also tried dyeing it to the color of their hair-color gene, but that doesn't stop them).

In vanilla, hair color doesn't fade. Once it's dyed, it's dyed forever, until the player tells them to change it. This is definitely modded behavior. Your best bet would be to track down which mod is responsible, and either check the settings to see if it can be disabled, or ask the author.

Probably in the settings of one of your mods, though I can't think of which one causes them to dye hair on their own off the top of my head. Only changing hair style automatically is vanilla behavior.

Can also minify the styling station when not needed.

I once dyed their hair but now want them to stop. There's an automatic hair dye mod, but I don't have it active :rwslugcat:

easiest way: remove the styling station.

I think there's another mod that adds that behavior, try looking into any other mods you have that involve personality or ideologies.

Could be that Alien Framework bug that some older species suffer from with the endless negative mood from wanting to change their look

That's what I've done, for now. It'd be nice to have another solution, though.

Any news on this? Happens to my pawn that has a leader role, when unnassigned to that role he stops going to the styling station.

I changed his hairstyle and color a few days ago, the pawn was designed with 'edb prepare carefully' and i already tried to deactivate the mod and reloading. Only happens with the leader role... a little bit weird.

Solution found: If you get their hair to their natural color, and then change their hair style, then change it back, it will save the natural color as the correct one and stop the pawn from trying over and over to re-dye their hair

One of my favorite things about this forum is that almost every day someone comes on here asking how to stop something or change something. and the answer is always the same.

Disable the mod your using that does that thing.

What about hair color xenogenes? When you implant them, it changes the color of their hair. Definitely modded behavior?

If you are telling them to implant a xenogerm that changes their hair color, that is you telling them to change their hair color. Not sure why you felt the need to bump this old thread.
