Good cold insulation clothes for combat purposes? (I will take mods too)
Since combat armors take both middle and outer layers, eventually they lose to regular clothes + middle armor in terms of insulation, but not in defensive potential. I am going through an Ice Age and temperatures will eventually drop down to -100s or even absolute zero. Somewhere along that path I eventually have to give up combat effectives in favour of more insulation but I wondered if there are any armor mods (or something along those lines) with extreme insulation for super-cold/hot temperatures? Like a walking greenhouse or something.

High quality power armours will also give significant amount of temperature protection, Phoenix armour for hot temps and other armours for cold, but if the temps drop too far you may need to consider heated combat zones instead.
Thrumbofur parka, button down shirt, and pants with a flak vest is a best scenario kind of thing. Add either a marine helmet or thrumbofur tuque depending on if you really need more insulation or more protection. If thrumbofur's a no, heavy fur may be more economical. Hyperweave can work too, but it trades better protection for worse insulation and is potentially even harder to get a hold of. Devilstrand's a last ditch option, protects pretty well but the cold insulation's only middle-of-the-pack. Guinea pig fur has the best insulation, but it falls way behind in protection.

If you've got all the DLCs or mods, other options open up. Ceremonial hood's superior to the tuque and has some okay protection when made from good materials like thrumbo. A broadwrap from Ideology also provides better protection than the tuque, but less insulation. Several mods like, say, the Monster Hunter one, add kind of OP materials to use.
Yes - it´s the reason why plate armor is basically useless in most biomes. Next to no insulation.

Also what was said above: Thrumbofur. Or Hyperweave. Both have comparable armor stats to cataphract armor if crafted with high quality. (without the downsides). But of course the material is rather rare.

Else it depends a bit on the playstyle. If You work with a killbox (or some kind of watchtower) You can have heating or cooling inside, but for like half of the threats You need to go outside anyways, so it doesn´t really always work, besides the boredom of killboxes.
