Public Health Warning: Psychite Tea...
I bought a 4 year old slave girl, convinced her to join my colony, and then just set her various things the same way I do for my grown up colonist.
The first couple of years went fine, she was learning quickly and she seemed happy enough.
Too Happy...

Then I suddenly got a message that she'd developed a psychite addiction; I'd just given her the same drug policy as my other colonist without thinking about it, which is psychite tea every two days. Never had a problem with that in any game, but, unsurprisingly, four year olds aren't so great at sticking to a schedule (and probably get addicted more easily too?), so I discovered my tea supply was less than a third of what it should have been.

So now she's fighting an addiction and I had to cast Regrow Limbs (from VE Psycasts) on her to knock out her for a day because she went psychotic and she was carrying a heavy SMG (that she can actually use too because I gave her a shooting trainer).

Probably a good thing I never got children...

The safe dose interval if hovered over in the drug information panel will tell you the safe dose interval for different ages.
Body size matters greatly for safe doses, and every two days is not suitable for such a young child.

Colonists will keep to the schedule unless they have a trait like chemical interest.

So she didn't do anything wrong, which makes me an even worse parent...

Thanks. I'll give it another try, once she's completely over the addiction.

Whatever you do, do not give a 2 year old smokeleaf joint :CunningPepe: :CunningPepe:

It's not the schedule, it's body size, it stays longer in the system if it's a child

Funniest thread ever.

"Psst, hey kid, wanna try some psychoactive drugs?"
"YAAAAY"
In my colonies the only drug scheduled is penoxycyline (luciferium is never used). Almost everything else is on a recreational basis, with smokeleaf and a number of others specifically excluded.

So far the kids haven't developed any addictions whatsoever.
