How to reform caravan?

Ive sent a caravan out to an enemy hunting camp on a mission and cant figure out how to get them home with the supplies. Can someone pls help me here?

There is only a "Form Caravan" option to send more people from my settlement. I just had to draft everyone and send them to the edge of the map to reform but surely this isn't the only way to do this?

Clear out the camp of hostiles and you should then be able to reform from that location. Make sure you select the correct world tile or the game will assume that you want to send a caravan from your colony instead.

When the game informs you that all hostiles have been cleared and it's safe to reform the caravan, you can do so. Not until. If there are any turrets left powered (destroy panels/batteries if you want to steal the turrets rather than destroy), or any hostiles left in buildings you haven't cleared, you'll have to deal with those first.

Note that this also includes things like mad animals that might happen while you're there.
