I didn't think about killing a family member. I want to try that for the experiment's sake.
Really want to know if yellow [break up] letter is possible for affair couple. Seems like no one really knows for sure.
It's strange, by the way, how most problems in RimWorld can be solved via unnecessary surgery, murder or both.
hahaha didn't think about surgery either. next time i got an affair i will definitely try to remove some organs from each other and see if they still feel like to be in an affair.
Leg privileges removed due to affair.
Recruit them for combat and make them punch each other. It doesn't need to be until one gets knocked out, but the simple act of being harmed by an allied pawn lowers relations, including friendly fire.
You can also try and make one of them ugly. Give them an aesthetic nose then take it away. With any luck, it should result in the person having their nose completely removed. Nobody except those with kind trait likes disfigured pawns. If that doesn't work, genemod the most ugly gene onto them for the same effect.
If you have the Ideology DLC, then depending on what precepts you have chosen, make one of them perform tasks that your ideology despises. It'll upset them for doing what they consider morally wrong, but other pawns in the ideology will dislike them for doing it.
I don't like affairs, so I have my ideology set so all pawns can have as many partners as they like, and lovin' is free and encouraged. My colonies always end up turning into one giant polycule.
core + royalty + ideology
Bought biotech, but trying to play my last ideo game before moving onto biotech because I never really got to play unique ideology game. All my previous games were classic-like.
In this game I am playing full blown aztec cannibal tribal camp, with obligatory permanent war against the empire.
Marriage precept is spouse onily. Can't share bed unless married. Male supremacy as well but I don't think that matters.
it is technically possible to have yellow [break up] text between two person having an affair. When it happened, negative social opinion of a spouse who was being cheated on went away immediately as well.
However, having precepts [organ use: acceptable] made it really hard to make pawns to hate each other. Harmed me is only -15 and waiting for family member to show up in the raid was not my thing.
So I installed character editor mode and added opinion where each killed others family members. After making them hate each other (-100 opinion of each other), i put both of them in a same room for about 3 days and [break up] text came up.
In short, game allows to end an affair w/o killing anyone if you can manage to make them hate each other a lot. But in practice, it can be very hard or unrealistic to achieve that w/o mode, barring some special circumstances. At least for my case, I wanted to end an affair to save initial marriage. So even if I had a biotech child, I wouldn't have killed a child just so I can force a break up, other than experiment's sake of course.
