Mod troubles with the new 1.5 updated Medieval Overhaul
Hey there guys, thanks for looking at my post. Now let me start with this. I have a ungodly amount of mods(maybe over 200??), and I sadly don't have Rimpy yet. I've been doing a Medieval Overhaul Unofficial play through and, while the game is playable(only barely), I can't access the Draft button, all of my abilities with my character[like xenotype abilities and paycasts(I'm playing with psycasts expanded)and other abilities], and the information screen. When I press the white I for the info, I get the gray screen but I don't get any of the text. I know this is a mod issue with the sheer amounts of mods I have, so please tell me which ones are affecting it. I got all of these from Mr SamuelStreamer, and RatKnight, so shout-out those two I guess.

Here are the mods I have because I've been yapping a little too much.

Edit: I am only looking for real and positive answers. Thanks for your consideration.

Multiple unupdated mods, prepare carefully and character editor... not too surprised you have issues.

Thank you for your response, however I am only looking for respectful answers as I have little knowledge about which mods commonly have issues. Thank you and have a good day.

Okay, I'm going to try and say this politely, and I'm sorry if it still comes off as rude. When you make a very large mod list, you need to be aware of problematic mods and potential incompatibilities. Even if you know what you're doing, it's unlikely a 100+ long mod list will work first try. Large mod lists from creators are well-known to be very unlikely to work for others (I'm not sure why this is the case actually. Does it not save the order?) I heavily recommend that you cut down on your mods, as that is the best way to run into less issues. Regardless of that, there are a few ways you can troubleshoot or improve the quality of your mod list:

Using a mod sorter. RimPy used to be the go-to, but the creator has been inactive for a while now. I've heard some good and bad things about RimSort, but it's probably worth a shot.

Check your logs. This can notify you of things that are wrong. The easiest way to check is a button that opens it that's at the top when dev mode is enabled. There are also mods that can tell you what mods are causing the errors, which is very useful.

The binary search method. Basically, you remove half of your mods from the list, then try to start a new game and see if you still have problems. If you do, the problem is with a mod or set of mods in this half of the list. If you don't, the problem is in the other half of the list. Then, you remove half of the mods from the half with the problems, and repeat the process until you find the issue.

I hope this helps you with your problems.

prepare carefully is known to break saves, it shouldn't be used. yes, it "works" in the immediate gratification sense, but long term its a cancer on your save file, causing a slow, miserable, painful, agonizing death. was that respectful enough?

I'd advise against using VFE: Medieval or Vikings in 1.5, as they may cause issues. Hopefully the replacement mod will be out soonish.

I'd also advise against using Prepare Carefully as it's... somewhat buggy, and has been for a while. If you have Character Editor, it'll fill in even if I did like PC's interface more.

Further, you got this mod list from two separate individuals? Was it two lists you combined, or did they work on this list together? And did they provide the mod loading order?

1. I just saw Oskar talking about VFE: Medieval and Vikings, he will be coming out with a brand new mod that combines the two and the Witcher Monster Hunt one I have. It’s coming out after he does the new Insectoid overhaul.

2. I probably should rephrase it like this: MrSamuelStreamer was where I got the majority of my mods from, I also got the mods from a VE mod list by Oskar and I also have a fair amount of mods I found on my own.

3. I don’t know if they did, but checking every mod and seeing their load list would create 2 problems.
A. They might differentiate
B. It would take hours

Thank you so much dude, I’ll try some of the stuff. Have a good one!

Do you happen to know which mods do this function?
