if not, satisfied storage mod gives you a slider on the storage tab that lets you set the percentage gone to refill at, but nothing to deal with the number actually stored there.
A 3-tile stockpile that only accepts simple meals will effectively stop at 30
This does mean a lot of food at any one time, but that isnt a bad thing

Smaller stockpiles doesn't really emulate a pause hauling feature. If a pawn eats 1 meal out of 30, another pawn will try to haul 1 meal to add to the 29, just as much as if a pawn eats 1 meal out of 100 and another pawn will haul 1 meal to the remaining 99.
