Set number of food trays for fridge?
Ultimately I want to be able to have multiple fridges for various uses (jail, hospital, food court, private rooms, etc) and to be able to give them the same command of:
Place "food type" to "number-a"
un-pause when food type reaches "number-b"

So it looks like this:
Kitchen Fridge
Store "Fine Meals" to "100"
un-pause when "60"

Jail Fridge
Store "Simple Meals" to "30"
un-pause when "10"

Either I've overlooked this issue or am very surprised that this has never been done?

haven't used it in a while, but i think this is exactly what you are after

if not, satisfied storage mod gives you a slider on the storage tab that lets you set the percentage gone to refill at, but nothing to deal with the number actually stored there.

Thank you both for the recommends! Will be checking both of these out shortly and provide confirmation feedback. Cheers!

You can try to emulate that in vanilla if you do smaller stockpiles

A 3-tile stockpile that only accepts simple meals will effectively stop at 30

I tend to use shelves - I have a mod that adds 2 extra types of shelves, one only takes a single stack, the other can take 6 stacks, but you dont need that. Then I make sure there is 'the right amount' of priority storage where I need it, and a reserve of lower priority storage in the main fridge. I have the kitchen set to pause food making when the total is about the total of my overall storage (a bit less to allow for stacking) and to recommence when the total food means the main reserve is empty.

This does mean a lot of food at any one time, but that isnt a bad thing

Here's another mod I know of that does the same thing, but personally I use Stack Gap.

Smaller stockpiles doesn't really emulate a pause hauling feature. If a pawn eats 1 meal out of 30, another pawn will try to haul 1 meal to add to the 29, just as much as if a pawn eats 1 meal out of 100 and another pawn will haul 1 meal to the remaining 99.

This might be what your looking for.
Thanks for this. Stack Limit just doesn't seem to work any more, ever since storage got the multiple stacks feature, so this should be a good replacement.
