Report a translation problem
Unfortunately it isn't dynamic, so if I make friendly with a faction that was originally hostile, I either need to manually change their color or it will be wrong. I do wish there was a mod that did this automatically which was dynamic, but I do not know of such a mod.
Anyway, this is the mod that I use which allows me to edit their colors (and other stuff), if that half-assed solution would work for you:

I don't think I knew about the fork. For the color change not working, did you try exiting to the main menu and then loading back in to see if the color change works when you do that?
I ask that because when I manually change it using the method I described above, the change is only reflected on the world map once I reload into the save, because the game doesn't update the icons other than on a reload, normally.
But was hopeing for a mod that just worked :D
