Is there anyway to force my pawns to do recreation?
I have like 4 pawns on the verge of a mental break because they have -20 from being recreation starved, but they literally have five hours in their schedule to do it. For some reason though they just keep sleeping during that time instead of doing recreation and are miserable because of it.

They're bored of your available recreation types. You need to offer new types of recreation.

put recreation into their daily work schedule and they should work it out

I don't ever set recreation on the schedule. I usually just do sleep or anything and let them figure that out.

What recreation activities do you have for them?

You need more recreation activities. They won't do activities they are overly bored with

Hover your mouse over their recreation bar to see how many sources of recreation their current level of expectations wants. If you have any "work" scheduled, remove it, trying to force chunks of "work" scheduling long term will break your pawns in multiple ways. Use it temporarily for emergency situations when you require your colonists to do something and ignore their needs. It's unnecessary and does more harm than good in any other situation.

jea if seen many pawns work until sleep comes up when you schedule work and after that recreation so now i just keep it at everything and is running better then ever.

I usually do sleep, anything, and add some single-hour recreation slots.

Feels like they keep their recreation need higher that way, while still "mostly" working with few breaks. Maybe I should alter it to be anything after waking up, then some hours of work, then 1h recreation, then more work (or maybe another hour of anything first?)... but it does work, and helps keep mood up.

one thing you can do with 1.5: you can force them to read books which is a recreation type.

theres also a sleep version
Kinda why I hate mods... So unnecessary.
If you don't put them on a specific schedule besides telling them when they are suppose to sleep- they will naturally seek out recreation types throughout your colony. It helps to build a recreation room as soon as you've got food and shelter sorted out because they will eventually get bored with just having a few types of recreation.

The only reason I've ever messed with the schedule is for Night Owls. Without a mod, the base game will do the sleep/recreation/learning/playing/feeding all on it's own.
