Anomaly research?

I'm having trouble starting anomaly research. I've activated the void monolith and clicked on "entity containment" in the anomaly research tab, I have the prerequisite electricity for it, and it is listed as the "active project." But I am getting a "research project needed" message, and nobody is researching at either of my research desks. When I select research from another tab, they start researching that, and the anomaly research doesn't progress.

Anomoly research isn't at a desk. You directly research it from captured creatures and can only be done periodically per anomoly

YOU need an ANOMALY to research/investigate. If you don't have one you don't earn any anomaly research points.

Ah, thanks. I killed the only one that showed up so far, as I didn't have a containment thing for it yet. I've built one now.
