How long is the study supposed to take? I'm starting to suspect mine is bugged or something because I've studied it like a dozen times and only "progressed" once.

Dont remember exact research count, may be 3 or 4. But I study it with 'anomaly' pawn. She have occultist perk and get more anomaly research points (dont sure if it matters in this case)

It's based on total research gained from studying it. You can speed it up by using a voidsight serum on your researcher and by making sure only your highest skilled researcher is studying it. With just a voidsight serum you can finish the event within ~4 study sessions. If you have an Occultist with Voidsight and lv20 research you can finish the entire event in ~2 study sessions.

12 sessions sounds pretty extreme. It should have woken up already after that much time had passed.

I meant to say half a dozen. Still took a ridiculous amount of time though. As it happens I had exactly one unit of voidsight serum on hand from an earlier quest and that did the trick for the final study. Corpse exploded, shard acquired.
