Pawn quite abit dumber sense 1.5?
Has anyone else noticed that pawns seem to struggle with schedule priorities now? If so anyone know a fix for it?

I keep hearing this but haven't run into it at all. I wouldn't be surprised if some common mod was causing whatever it is people are experiencing.

Pawn logic hasn't changed since 1.4, any changes that you're seeing are being caused by something else.

Weird, i tired both modded and unmodded and they seem like they really struggle to keep on top of things they normally would. May just be me being over critical of having to deal with more stuff lol

What *exactly* are you noticing they're doing in the wrong order?

An example would be, lets say i have something set to 1, they finish that job. Unless i give them a nudge they will stand around and do nothing, even letting prisoners starve with warden set as 2

That would be an error happening. Open your log and take a look the next time that happens. If pawns are ever "standing" for more than a few ticks then it's not the AI doing anything "dumb," it's their next task being bugged and them unable to do it.

If you tested "without mods" by removing mods from a save that had mods and had the issue, that generally does not fix things. If you are seeing issues like this in a fresh save with 0 mods you might need to verify your files.

I've been noticing it as well, I'm wondering in one of the more common mods out there unintentionally ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up the pawns

There's a Common Sense mod that I had to re-enable after it was updated.

I haven't noticed this at all. Most likely mod related. I play mostly vanilla.

What happens when you select another pawn and right click the prisoner? Does it say that the task is currently being handled by someone?
WildStargazer Apr 26, 2024 @ 1:47pm
They changed a few things that can make such impression. For example they allowed multiple pawns to haul materials to the same construction. But now if you command pawn with a high construction skill to build royal bed (for example) after first haul he will just walk off and some other random pawn will construct it instead, this is annoying.

Nah i tired both a complete fresh install, and a modded one seems to be some kind of breakdown somewhere

Nope it'll just be a task that no one has queued up to do even though they logically should be

What does the pawn's infocard say about the job they're currently doing?

A pawn just standing somewhere and not moving is usually caused by some error in the JobDriver. Try to figure out which job is breaking down by deactivating the pawn's highest priority jobs one after the other.

Also, check the "player.log" file. It's located in "%APPDATA%\..\LocalLow\Ludeon Studios\RimWorld by Ludeon Studios\Config" (just paste this in the address bar of Explorer). If an error occurred, it'll most likely show up in there.

I'm also having the issue where pawns will stand still despite a job queued up. Seems to happen (more) when there's a lot of colonists (10) in a colony.

The most funny thing is when colonist is going to pick something up in the room, and you forbid door. Colonist is still going until he stops near door and thinks for a second, then changes destination.
