so about metal horrors..
is there no other way to rescue your pawn who has it? just straight up killing him will end the metal horrors? such a waste for letting a long-time pawn getting killed just like that.

by the way, my pawn got it from sightstealer scratches so i guess you just need to avoid getting physically hurt from the anomalies as much as you can or you'll just end up getting implanted by the gray flesh by rng

They just ripped out and the guy lived for me. Just give him a surgical poke once you find out who's infected.

I was still at the very first stage of the infection, so surgical inspections won't detect it for me. the only way that I figured out is to straight up killing that pawn so the metal horror comes out.

he also infected another pawn, but somehow that pawn still lived

No, you don't need to kill the colonist to end the infestation. Interrogate or medically test the colonist until you get a positive, and then there's a very high chance for them to just pop out and end the infestation. If they don't pop out after you've gotten a positive, keep testing on them.

They can also just pop out on their own randomly for no real reason.

If your colonist is healthy when they pop out the colonist will be fine. They'll be bleeding, but can be rescued and tended to normally.

The odds are pretty unimaginably small to get infected by metalhorrors in melee with an entity. You might get an infection every 3 or 4 years, but it's something you can largely ignore and it just will never come up.

It's under the Prisoner tab when you select them.
