2 of your pawns "got some lovin", but 1 (or both) of those pawns were married/in a relationship with someone else.
Their partner will suffer a -70 opinion of the adulterer.

Does Ashley Madison exist on the Rim?

There is a button, bottom right with an envelop icon, where you can see all the messages or notifications.

As for affair, the more you play (or the more you random pawns at the beginning) more and more relations are created. So usually, some of my colonists have spouses that are not taken onboard, and over time (with their absence), they will develop affection for some other colonists and then the Affair happens.

Basically it's an event like Lovers/Marriage/Breakup, we do not have really a control over it, it can be triggered as an event from the Storyteller at any given time, and it's part of the simulation immersion (as I wrote Rimworld is like 2D Sims with guns, drugs and carnage).

Usually it happens with two colonists that are working on the similar job/in same area, they must not have misandry/misogynist traits, and being Pretty speeds up things.

It's actually not an event (incident) and storytellers do not have any control over it. It's simply when a colonist on it's own decides to initiate a romance attempt with another pawn and they accept, while either of them are already married and at/over the ideology spouse limit. The game generates a "letter" for it in the same way it does when a colonist dies, gets an infection, has a mental break, or any other non-incident happenstance that the game thinks you should be aware of.

Typically it happens when colonists are in a relationship and their opinion of each other is low, and another colonist without a partner is going around trying to pick anyone up. The lower the relationship of two colonists in a relationship the higher the chance they will accept or initiate a romance attempt from a third party. At 100 relationship the chance multiplier is not 0 though, so they can pretty much always happen to some extent.

The only downside is a non-stacking -70 (-50?) opinion modifier with their existing partner, if you can compensate for this then it's generally a good thing for your colony overall. You can cram all three into the same room without it being a barracks, and that third party is now getting a relationship mood bonus.

This happened to me yesterday and it was pretty predictable. My pawn got an inspired trade, and then a bulk goods trader came on the Coms console.

I gave him 2 social trainers to get him to 18, and then had him seal the deal. As soon as he turned around and walked away from the console, he flirted with his buddy's wife and she decided to sleep with him.

Watch out for those social trainers, they work.

But mommy like to use the whips and chains, and daddy likes to use the babysitter like a screen door in a hurricane.

How exactly does one use someone else like a screen door in a hurricane? That makes as much sense as a screen door on a submarine...

Then Sparkey should have said “like a hurricane uses a screen door.” At least the violent imagery would have come across better. His original statement sounded like the husband was using the screen door for some sort of survival technique in said situation.

Anyway, carry on. Your Friendly Neighborhood Gigachad looks like he’s getting quite an education.

I kinda got that's what the gist of his comment was, just the way it was worded was throwing me off, kinda like a bbq grill throws off a bloodhound...

I just reformed my ideology and now it's free for all, including multiple spouses. And I have 80 or 90 people.

One of the best lines I got in a previous game was a guy named Tynan with "got some lovin' x 8" :D

It is a saying like "As the crow flies", and you are pointing out that crows don't usually fly in a straight line, so he should say "as the plane flies".

It is a common saying, and if he changed it up no one would know what he is talking about.
