The trick is: pruning is not a normal task, the only things that matter, if I remember correctly, is your growing skill level, which will inevitably hit 20 if you just leave a pawn there doing it all day, and your GLOBAL workspeed.
This does not include the work speed boosts from from things like sight, manipulation, etc.. only flat mood boosts matter, I think being industrious can also help with that(?)
The neurotic ritual that makes everyone a bit moody, from anomaly is something I was constantly useing, I've even built a rage inducer close to the middle of my tree formation, and even with the penalty for having close buildings the pawn still could maintain them all at max level as it didn't need to sleep, or eat thanks to implants.
It does not seem to be affected by manipulation.
In other words - if you want a good pruning pawn - you want industrious and/or neurotic pawns.
Wake-up drug helps a lot as well.
Work drive ability from collectivist meme, or a boost from dance party/drum party rituals as well.
That being said - keeping a single tree on 100% should take a single pawn around 4 hours a day. With 6 point drop a day, a single pawn should be able to handle several trees at once... BUT this pawn will have to be dedicated to the trees pretty much the whole day.

(Granted this isn't your usual effect, the target is a mechanitor with a lot of psychic sensitivity)
My only mistake was not planing for it ahead of time, thinking I wouldn't mess with gauranlean trees this time, if I had known I'd place them right int he middle of my base so people could move around the joy area all day keeping all moods permanently maxed, that's why I ended up making another lobotmized joyslave roaming around the base, hauling stuff.
But yeah, you can have a super productive pawn sitting there, all day, pruning trees with maxed out mood, spreading the joy with high sensitivity, taking care of most of the colony's hauling needs by himself.
I created a communal tree and fire worshiping tribe that sacrifices our enemies to our pagan nature gods and burn them in holy wicker man burnings and duels of honor. We work more in tandem with animals rather than hunting them using mega fauna to guard our homes and groves and using the wool of the muffolo and alpaca to build our yurts. The mentality is that since we live off the land we owe our honor to it so we guard our trees and animal companions like our children and claim to be guardians of the forests.
we also will always provide charity even to our enemies as long as they mean no harm in that moment. That said we will still raid you a week later for raiding us last week when you didn't happen to need our help. It's this kinda psudo Celtic-Native american- Animist tribal cult. We wield tomahawks and long swords with round shields and have incredibly powerful long bows as well but love black powder fire arms.
Using modern weapons is kept to a minimum and use electricity purely for automated defenses, lighting and medical purposes and nothing else shunning all computers, tvs and luxuries it could provide.
we also consider all non renewable energy taboo so we only use solar panels and thermal vents for power. Theres also a big emphasis on community, and respect for the wise and brave such as elders and our greatest warriors and nobles. We call ourselves "The Wood Walkers"
Hippies gotta get with the times, heck you don't even need the meme to get good use out of dryads with the right planning in place for it. And hey, tree hippies worship the trees not people, people exist but to make the trees prosper yatta yatta grind all humans to mulch to feed the trees. Become the most efficient tree grower ever to truly uplift trees to glory or some such.
Not every depiction of nature lovers is soft and cushy.
I agree. I just think its funny.
we dont mulch them we burn them and use their ashes as fertizer and yea bad hygiene adds bathroom needs but it also adds a bunch of benifits to gameplay if you do it right high cleanliness from the mod means less infection and illnesses as well as adding things like showers that make you're colonists happy from being well bathed, as well as new recreation items and washing machines for removing the tainted effect from apparel and sauna's that reduce the odds of a heart attack.
