How to get rid of Toxic packs?
It's becoming problem. My huge Pasteel shelter overloaded.

Wastepack atomiser will slowly delete them (may need several), can also throw them at some hostile tribe via drop pod or some other unoccupied area that won't upset a local faction that may send more wastepacks back (tribals cannot, so they send a raid instead).

It makes it a bit easier, But Vanilla Recycle mod helps a lot with that and give a whole new work chain around wastepacks.

Easiest method is to dump them at the edges of your map. It will take several years of them dissolving before you even see a consequence, usually longer than a normal gameplay

And by the time there's too much pollution, you can use atomizers to fix it

It's on edge and surrounded by Pumps that barely contain it.

Don't contain it, just leave it there
The pumps are only useful if the pollution is in your base, you don't care if it's outside

Pollution pumps don't even remove pollution, you can't contain anything with them

It's slowly creeping to my base.

I got paid a lot to get toxic waste from allies.
Pollution pumps do not deal with pollution, they only repackage it for storage or disposal. Pollution itself will not spread, leave it where it was and that is where it will stay.

Then you should focus on getting atomizers, you should be rich at the point where pollution reaches your base

You could also just dump it on the map

Polux trees also slowly remove pollution, and you might be able to get a seed from a trader.

Or just embrace the waster lifestyle.

The key phrase being "slowly".

The only way to remove pollution is:
- Transporting it somewhere else (other factions might dislike it and send toxic wastepacks back, or raid you).
- Using very rare Polux Trees that removes it in a area (without generating packs like the pump).
- Using Wastepack Atomizers (endgame research for Mechanitors).

When it comes to containing it i recommend just making a freezer and throwing it all in there.

Other then that you can also add implants or equipment to your pawns (masks, gas masks, either lungs or kidneys) that negate the negative effects of a toxic environment (note that any farming you try to do might still suffer).

You can also use various mods to break down the toxic packs more efficiently. There's even one that adds a powerplant that runs on them.

Dump them into a flesh pit. You can even weaponize them there if you want.

You can also start launching them at tribals. Tribals absolutely love pollution and there is absolutely no consequence whatsoever over dumping large amounts of pollution on tribals. :undyne:

Jokes aside, you can dump them without transport pods if you go on caravan trips. If you are going out to trade anyway you might as well make a detour to drop some wastepacks next to your least favorite neighbor.

Indeed. I dropped few hundreds on tribals and pirats and they all cool with it.

This one time I just dumped them on the far corner of the map

1.Toxic waste atomizer is a top end research after getting all the mechanoid chips.
It very slowly destroys waste packs.

2.Polux trees can rarly spawn as an event when their is toxic waste dumped onto tiles.
Or you can get a seed from a trader or quest reward. A Polux tree slowly eats up toxic waste spills on the tiles around it.

3.You can caravan or drop pod the toxic waste somewhere on the world map, this will give reduce your standing with a nearby faction and permanently pollute the tile, but a single tile can hold alot of waste before it reaches 100%

4.Anomaly: With the new DLC a new and easily abused method has arrived. By selecting the hole you can get a caravan like menu, select all the toxic waste and send it down into the hole.
Once the flesh beasts are dealt with and the hole caves in on it self the toxic waste is gone with no ill side effects. I'm surprised this hasnt been patched because its beyond busted.
If you use this method, you might as well just enable dev mode and delete them your self. its the same outcome.
You could argue dev mode is less cheaty as the den comes with lots of loot.

Theres also several mod options, like the vanilla expanded recycle mod, which is super cheaty as you turn toxic waste into rare resources like uranium, plasteel, gold and even a way to make permanent fertile soil. I'm using it right now its super busted, like most VE stuff is now days.

Just pick your poison.
