There are multiple mods that cause severe memory bloat, possibly only when used in specific combinations. It's a "common" mod problem and this thread pops up fairly frequently, but nobody ever clarifies which mods were causing it for them so I can't really help beyond saying: It's your mods.
It's not "number of mods" either. I tend to play with around 100-200 mods and that still doesn't go above 3gb. Individual mods are tiny, things like art and added items shouldn't contribute anything noticeable to memory size unless the mod is doing something wrong. The issue baffles me honestly and I'd love to know what exactly is going so bonkers to eat through dozens of gigabytes of memory without almost instantly crashing.
Considering he says he's playing unmodded. This is honestly a very strange situation. Somethig else must be going on.
Wait are you on windows or another platform? Maybe it has to do with the platform and there's a memory leak on the mac version or something idk ... but I never seen ram bloat this bad especially not for a vanilla game. Or perhaps the RAM itself is disfunctional?
Ya this is I think the first time I've heard anyone mention having this issue without mods, so my brain apparently rearranged words to fit my expectation of it being mods. If there is an issue that can somehow cause this to happen even without mods then perhaps some of the people who have been playing modded and ran into this, may not have had mods to blame afterall.
Might be worth contacting Ludeon support if you are truly unmodded, they might have some idea on what could cause it. My only guess would be some sort of software conflict maybe, like AV.
I have submitted the ticket to Ludeon Support Forum too and still haven´t got an answer. Thank you for your reply, now I know that it is not an issue of my computer. Let´s hope 1.5 will fix it.
I would like to play the game as it is, I am still beginner and there is still a lot to learn and explore for me.
Oh by the way, I work in QA, i hope the stable version 1.3.3101 can help for continue of playing
