My Problem with naked brutality
The name is very misleading because you actually do start with all the research that crashlanded has which makes it a minor inconvenience at the start but will stop mattering once you get some resources, not having any research would do it's name more justice because now you truly start with nothing exept for the colonist itself

I'm just saying why would a szenario called "naked brutality" let you start with all the research that crashlanded has, the vanilla naked brutality is just oh wow you only start with one colonist without any clothes or starting items but having all of that starting research defeats the whole purpose since after getting a few materials you can just build all the stuff that you can in crashlanded.

While tribal naked brutality still would have some starting research at least you would have the added challenge of late game research taking longer because of the tech level difference

They must of changed it, originally you started with absolutely nothing.

Starting research is based on your faction not the scenario. Naked brutality starts you with one naked pawn and 0 other scenario items, it's not meant to do anything more than that. There is no base game scenario mechanic to remove research and I don't think the devs are going to put any extra effort into a silly niche scenario.

Besides, being naked and alone wouldn't make a tribal pawn forget how to make pemmican, and wouldn't make a spacer forget how to make a bed or simple clothes. If you want to literally start with nothing check out vanilla expanded factions tribal. You can start as a lone wildman with 0 research and even basic game functions that don't normally require research locked out.

naked brutality's difficulty doesn't really revolve around research, it's all about pawn count

Same problem tribal starts have. Since the pawn count is so high it's a better start for a lot of people, especially since getting higher tech isn't locked behind research, you get fully strapped after a decent raid comes to you.

I typically start with this scenario:

It is naked brutality with a tribal faction. Think I may have also set that to no pets, but I do not remember that for sure. Or maybe Naked Brutality already starts with no pets... I don't always remember what is vanilla anymore, haha.

You could also edit the scenario and delete the research. Hell, I wouldn't be surprised if you couldn't search the workshop and find someone who has already made just such a scenario.

I felt the same when I started playing Naked Brutality and quickly abandoned the save. I found my happy place with Tribal Naked Brutality.
