RimWorld

RimWorld

Next Sale?
I picked up Rimworld on sale (because it had always been like 60$ and never went lower than like 10% off) and told myself I needed to beat the game with no mods or DLC just to see if it was worth buying into. I thought it was a nice template and then saw the DLCs added a lot to it. Unfortunately, I had beaten the game outside of the sale window.

I want to buy all the DLCs, but I almost always wait for sales. Any idea when Rimworld usually goes on sale? I don't want to miss some random celebration sale or holiday before Summer.

Thanks!

Even Biotech is on sale over there. 12% or $3, but still.

Edit: rescind that, all the gaming codes are sold out for biotech. Didn’t check out the others.

Sales for Rimworld and the DLCs are Rare.
Usually its only a Small Discount.

You can get all DLCs at Instant Gaming right Now for a Small Discount of I think around 10% or something.

The Next Chance for a Decent Discount would likely be Spring Sale on Steam.
But even then its likely only going be something like 20% maybe more for the older DLCs.

Just curious, what country and currency are you working with where the base game is $60?
Astasia Feb 12, 2024 @ 7:17am
RimWorld goes on sale during most major Steam sales and for the release of the DLCS. Tends to be like 7 times per year. The next DLC might be releasing this month or next month which will cause the base game and other DLCs to go on sale, otherwise it should be on sale during the Spring sale next month. Biotech will not go on sale until after the next DLC is out.

Fanatical 12% "sales" are really their normal prices, games are basically always on "sale" there for 12% off or more because they are sacrificing much of their own cut to try to get people to use their site. It's against the rules to be selling Steam keys at a base price lower than Steam, so they have near permanent sales, and when one sale ends it goes on sale again a few days later. During an official Ludeon approved sale they can stack their usual discount on top of the sale discount for a decent drop in price.

Ludeon's website has a sale on right now, you get both standalone and Steam key. 20% for the base game, and 10% off for Royalty and Ideology:

https://rimworldgame.com/

If you don't believe me (or my link gets censored by Steam), then go to Ludeon's official website and you'll find the link there.

Note that Tynan's store is direct Canadian dollar, while Steam is locked to your local currency. I.e. this might be cheaper or more expensive depending on your country. Sale price should still work out cheaper than Steam's full price, but e.g. 10% off Ludeon store might work out to 7% off the Steam store.

tl;dr:
Sale now - at Ludeon's website.
Ends on the 20th of February.

If you're worried about saving $3, you really aren't that interested in the game.

The sales on Steam are rarely more than 10% (I think there was a 20% sale on the base game before).

The $3 really will not make a difference. Just buy them if you're interested.

Ah, Spring Sale, that might be good.

There's another DLC planned?... Thought it would be done considering the last DLC was listed a bit ago I thought.

It's been registered on the store for a while. DLCs are about 15-16 months apart, it's been about 16 months since the last one. They are announced like 2 weeks before release.

It wasn't $60 at release either.

*shrug* It was something I wasn't willing to pay. Seemed like 60$ from what I remember. Maybe 50. Again, this was a long time ago.

Yeah, I don't know what "registered on the store" means. It's not on the default page or sent out to everyone, so it doesn't actually exist. Like the Fallout New Vegas 2 thing I heard about.
