Faction xenotypes
Why is my faction always (?) 100% baseliner? Can I change the xenotypes of my or other factions? (Without modding game files)

You can change the xenotype at character creation (button on the top right corner)

Or you can get different xenotypes later in the game, usually when pigmen or wasters raid you.

When your selecting colonists you can just set their xenotype there. It does randomize the colonist so make sure you do it before finding someone you like. You can also make custom ones and start with those. Each faction has it's own ratios for xenotype spawn rates for that faction as well. If you are already in game you can go down the genetics research line and make your own xenotypes by harvesting or purchasing genes. Conveniently most xenotype factions are hostile to make harvesting easy.

I am talking about game creation. Each faction has its own xenotype ratio, which I cannot change.

Oh you just mean for other factions, no you can't change that. You'd have to mod in your own version of factions with the xenotype ratios you want.

I was wondering the same thing. It absolutely should be a game feature to tie factions/ideologies and xenotypes together.
My waster colony enjoying the pollution? Neat.
The ritual reward of spawning a faction member, but it is an impid or baseliner getting dementia in the smog? Not so great.
Similar for custom xenotypes that are unbearably ugly for all but their kin.
Well. There are mods for it. Custom Xenotype Spawner, apparently, though it is not set to 1.5 yet.

There's Xenotype Spawn Control (mod ofc), noob-friendly, save-friendly. It's outdated, but works without issues.
