As for removing the dependency... Wasters have a genetic need for psychite and it cannot be removed without giving a custom xenotype that overrides the dependency (and accounts for the metabolism changes), iirc they are the only germline that has a drug dependency while hussars also need a drug but any xenotype implant will remove that (and everything that comes with the hussar xenotype).
If you're worried about addictions, don't be ; wasters can't get addicted, and your pawns won't take psychite if you remove it from their schedule (they can't get addicted if you allow them to take it once every two days either). The only risk of addiction from psychite being in your colony is if you have a chemically interested pawn, but you can just beat him up before he starts indulging.
As for removing it, I'm guessing implanting a custom xenotype yeah, although I don't remember how it interacts with different races, whether it keeps the waster genes or if it treats any pawn as baseliner
Okay thanks a bunch!
Got really attached to a pawn that was sent to raid me, turned out she was music idol turned prostitute in her clan / tribe I guess, which made me kind of feel bad for her, so I wanted to help her no matter what.
I found out way too late I can grow psychite so Lu will be in coma for a few days...
