you can also do a 2 wide hallway, with traps spaced every other spot and then a fence in the alternating spots on the other side of the hallway
Raiders can't see traps. They can learn a certain path is a "hotspot" for traps after multiple raids die to them, but they still don't know exact trap locations. So if you alternate traps on the left and right of a 2 wide corridor, your colonists can walk between them without setting them off, and enemies will still walk over them and set them off as long as they have no other path into your base.
Friendly visitors can't trigger traps ever, so it doesn't matter how they are placed for that.
