Just make sure to supply the basic stuff, tables for them to eat on, different recreational abilities for them to enjoy, keep area's clean and pretty... you know; the same stuff you do for the other pawns to keep them from having mental breaks....
In a pinch you can always check their needs-tab to see what other problems you can fix
It IS a way to increase the "handle difficulty" for such pawns to reflect their increased stature and/or abilities... after all; you can only do so much to keep them happy and if you then expose them to a lot of narly stuff they WILL break more easily than a pawn that does not have the same stature (with all manner of consequence)....
Keep in mind, also, that ALL of these boni/malus' stack so you can get a cult leader who is ALSO your main royalty pawn causing them to reach that "sky-high" expectation expectancy a LOT sooner than any other pawn in your colony and perhaps even sooner than you can feasibly offset those expectations for...
For example... to mix stuff up in my current game I started a crashlanded colony but with the body sculptors ideology to START with.... now I can't make animals scans at the start so ALL my colonists have a -40 mood penalty right at the start... I made my socialist both my cult leader AND my yeoman so now he expects sky-hiogh stuff when I haven't even researched as much as batteries yet.... that's a -80 penalty to deal with for just that colonists....have fun supplying pawns like that with enough stuff so they don't chain mental-break all the time...
drugs
psychic harmonizers
you can purchase psychic sooth pulses
time your quests/rituals/leader speeches just before or after bad events.
a few other ways but the ones I listed are the easiest though they come with some risks
Obviously maximize as many positive mood buffs as you can from your room types.
Other traits that improve mood or prevent breaks are fine too
With ideology you probably want to assign the priest role ASAP because spamming ideology rituals is a big way to manage mood (and get proper recruits) early on. If you get lucky with the outcomes you can ignore the debuffs for a while.
As for the best stuff to improve mood in general ; extremely impressive rec/dining room, high comfort, impressive bedrooms (you can do one bedroom earlier than the rest for your ideology pawns), beer/psychic tea schedules, fine and lavish meals (again, you can give fine or lavish to your ideology pawns earlier than others), keeping the place clean with roombas, etc.
