If you actually entered your admin password, the mod / virus / whatever that asked for it might have managed to phone home, and some total stranger might have your password right now.
Well, all that I can say is that after I entered my password into the dialogue that popped up (still kicking myself for that bit of stupid) I suddenly found that my password had been changed and I no longer had access to my system. I restarted as fast as I could, booted from my Time Machine drive, and did a complete restore from the last backup (about 20 minutes old). I'm back in now and have set a new password. I can't say for sure that it was malware, but I'm not taking any chances.
And I still cannot get back into a game that I was just playing this morning. Sigh.
