"Sex positive" asexual here. I don't like having sex. But I appreciate porn. Sex is....much better in theory than in practice for me. ( And before some ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ chimes in, no, that doesn't mean I'm bad at it. My exes' and my wife's complaint on that topic was never that they weren't satisfied, just that I don't do it frequently enough. )
Could it be that you might live in small bubble and rarely talk to people out of your group?
So exactly what are you getting attracted too in porn if you're asexual? I'm honestly curious because asexual means you have no desire for sexual intercourse, direct or indirect.
Sex is sex. Porn is porn. At some point, especially in stable relationship with a woman, you need to go both ways... well... that of course depends on your needs. If you say that your needs are covered it never means a thing, because other people may have actually much higher needs. Having said that - porn is good only for smart people. It delivers as long as somebody know how to use it. There are many people who suffer from being overly dependent on porn, since at some point porn becomes something easier, more available and just less problematic than standard intercourse. In this case I understand being smart as knowing this and not going this way.
It's better to permanently drop porn altogether. Sex is a cardinal desire that isn't needed like food, and you can ultimately become more productive and happier by abstinence.
I don't think an adult is going to worry overmuch about using a sensible, descriptive, title if there's a translation that can associate part of it with a slang verb...
It's a world.
It's on the "Rim" of the galaxy.
The rest... is just juvenile giggling. It's at the level of "It's not really funny. But if you want to laugh at it, I guess that's a bonus."
And, yes, those little bits of giggling in the back of the classroom during the equivalent of gradeschool Human Anatomy class... are also bits of free marketing. JEEENEEYOOS!
No it doesn't. It means you don't experience sexual attraction to any gender. That doesn't mean you're incapable of getting aroused. The term refers to a sexual orientation, which describes what GENDER arouses you. Lack of libido is something completely different. And while it does often go along with asexuality, it doesn't always. That's why many will categorize it as sex positive, sex negative, or sex neutral asexuality.
For me it's not necessarily the people or their gender. It's watching people experiencing the pleasure. I can stare at naked people all day and nada. Can even watch them grind on each other, but if they're not into it....nope.
Benefit for my partner is that if they're not enjoying it, I get nowhere either. So when something DOES happen, I do my best to make sure they're happy.
But for me personally, the downside is I ALSO have a low libido.
( Also I am one who appreciates the beauty of the human form in artwork. Doesn't AROUSE me, but I admire it... )
( And we should probably drop this line of conversation now, miiiiiiiiiight be overstepping the community rules with this topic. XD )
Seriously, there are plenty of non-sexual uses of the word "Rim" that are far more common than the sexual usage of the word. Does this guy also giggle like a schoolchild at the name of...well, any sport that contains "ball" in the name because "ball" is slang for testicle?
(because Steam doesn't seem to embed youtube anymore, video title is Rimshot Sound Effect)
