Generator
I am back to the game after months, and to my surprise with a new game, my generators don't power anything, it is like the power lines are not linked between, the generator and let's say the coolant system. Did they change something?

Nope. Double check the power conduits and make sure there aren't any disconnects. If there's an unconnected section of conduit, some things may be plugged in to it instead of the powered part.

Hmm, Do you have mods? You speak of a coolant system, which might refer to an air conditioner, but sounds more like a modded system. Anyway, there is a Dev Tool option to regenerate the power grid connections, or sometimes just digging up and rebuilding a power wire will do the trick. I have only noticed this sort of issue with mods that change power conduits or mods that create starting buildings on the map.

I have a lot of mods but i am talking about the basic one red/blue
and i know how to install them, well before today.
i drag my cables all along my wall then i place the generator and the coolant system in the kitchen's wall. when i am looking with the cable view, with the powerline in blue, the generator is not connecting to the power line and same for the 2 coolant systems.

that can only be an issue with mods, as you can see the ai is telling me that i have not enough iron, when i have a stack of 75.

Iron huh - thats definitely a mod - although I dont know which. Power cable is usually made out of steel, although I know of one mod that changes that to copper.

Try selecting an AC unit, and pressing H. I think your problem is, you have built a power cable under your AC unit, but not connected the cable to the rest of your grid, and the AC is connected to a dead circuit.

Going from your screenshot, you're adding "spots" of cable instead of actually dragging a cable from A to B...

Constructed conduits have a solid blue line. If you've ordered more conduits built in that wall then they aren't finished. The existing conduits aren't touching the generators so aren't doing anything yet.

...and normally the white outline of a conduit under construction would be visible.

There's an issue in 1.4 that causes conduit blueprints under a wall to become invisible once "framed," which usually happens when resources are delivered to it. So they could have ordered a line of conduits to be constructed and ordered a pawn to build them which would have caused steel to be delivered to all of them but only one conduit built. Construction priority might not be set correctly so the conduits are just sitting there with steel already delivered and not being built.

This is definitely the case, you can see the outline for incomplete construction under the doors in that room.

Originally the cable was all around the building so i don't know why i have 2 blue cable and why nothing is connected.
I have played this game for more 1660 hours so i know how things work, but again that must be an issue with a mod.

i saw the builder bulding the whole line.

Well you were right the line was just not build, damned i am becoming old my eyes are betraying me ^^

Thanks everyone !
TBH with the coolers that close to the generator you didn't actually need conduits as anything needing power within 6 tiles iirc will connect to a conduit and generators have integrated conduits.

But at least you found out your problem and will have it fixed easy enough.
