Why do I have to reassign bedrooms to caravan members?

As in they have no bedroom/throne when they come back. Can't remember it being like this before.

Couples will relink to their mates bed but yeah, it happens when they find a bed on another map tile and sleep there. That bed then becomes theirs. They should eventually pick an empty bed in your colony when they return and go to sleep again. But it can be annoying if you have a barracks for quests for example, and they pick those beds instead of a better solo room.

If you give them a bed on a mission map just remember to give them back their original bed when they get back. Or use this mod:

i had one colonist who had 3 girlfriends,ive never seen a dude have 3 lovers in 1 colony and his only trait was undergrounder,he wasnt even beautiful and every time he came back he would be unassigned a bed and become unhappy sleeping alone

Same thing happens really with relationships. If a couple breaks up one will unassign from their bed and auto assign to a new one the next time they go to rest.

You mean the 1.0 official release "patch"? It's like this since 1.0.

Just want to add that the bed is unassigned at the moment they leave the map. But at least if it is a double bed of a couple - they get the same bed back if only one is in the caravan. Doesn´t work for thrones though...

yea thats a thing that should be fixed in base game, without the mod its rly annoying once u have 50+ ppl

I can´t remember having played the game without this "bug". What´s Your source? I mean there wouldn´t be a mod from 2020 if it´s "currently a bug", and the devs would be working on it - or it´s the hardest to fix bug in the existence of gaming, even if it´s 100% reproducible and straight forward.

The mod I linked is for beds being unassigned when a colonist is assigned a new bed on a new map. That is not a bug. Apparently it sounds like there is a new bug that causes beds to get unassigned as soon as a colonist leaves the map, this is the first I'm hearing of it so with my previous comment I assumed the thread was about the normal bed swapping mechanic. It sounds like the mod I linked above doesn't do anything to help with the new bug.

If you assigned them to a bed while outside of the colony and said bed do not exist anymore as you left. They will no longer have a bed in the colony.
