Controller Support?
Is there controller Support for Rimworld on PC? If not, why not ? Isn't Rimworld on console and Steam Deck now ? Lately I've been playing my games on my couch with a Xbox controller using Steam Link. Hopefully I can try with Rimworld and not be forced to make my own unoptimized controls via steam big picture.

It works well with the Deck, but I'm unsure how well it'd work, if at all, with a console controller. The console port is handled by a different company.

I'm kind of curious now too.

If someone can play Rimworld with a console controller, that must mean it's possible to play RImworld with crazy console controllers like a DDR pad.

Ultimate challenge.

I mean Rimworld is on Xbox and the switch I think so why can't we choose those settings in the PC? Idk.

The console version is an entirely different build by a different company. Not sure about how the Deck controls translate to a different controller.

Console rimworld was developed by another studio and they pretty much re-did the entire UI so it's controller friendly.

You can force controller usage on steam by choosing one of the community made controls presets (or making your own) on any game but it won't feel the same as native support.

Oh okay i didnt know it was developed by a different studio. Yeah that's what I'm going to do, use steam big picture just was hoping they had console controls implemented because its lets glitchy and more optimized. Thanks.

I've poked around a little and there is a "Simulate using Steam Deck" option hidden away in the dev mode tools. Still no clue how it'd react to a different controller, but maybe worth trying.

Okay cool I'll definitely check that out when I play I might have to set my controller to "generic controller" instead of Xbox controller.

It doesnt matter that the console version was made a by a different studio, Ludeon should have access to the resources to implement it on PC. Its a shame they havent done it, as controllers work great for accessibility.

Yeah I don't get why they can't implement the consoles controller support on Pc! People with the ROG Ally, legion Go or Msi claw are now left out!
