I think you can still bury them as long as you allow it in grave's settings. But yes, there were and are no advantages to it, it's just a waste of space.

I think its better to drag them away from your base and leave them out to rot. When you cremate them alot of their gear is ejected so it increases your wealth and could make future raids bigger when they shouldn't. You can use a lifter so you dont get a mood debuff and it would be a good idea too as your colonists could get ambushed by a new raid when out of your defences.

I use mechs to do work far away for safety unless its immediately after a raid as there wont be another one for a number of days. If they die its not a big deal

Often playing on a map with a large river ,I throw them in or it disappears quickly and are my dryads that usually lead them there

I'm not sure tainted gear counts for full value, but you should be smelting the vast majority of the junk raiders bring down so your skilled crafters can make higher-quality gear.

No, it's a waste of time, even for friendlies.

If you don't want to incinerate or eat them, just let them rot somewhere outside where your colonists don't usually go, the rain will take care of them

If you go this route, corpses decay faster in water or marsh.

Real men eat their raiders corpses raw in front of the prisoners. I once left a woman's brother's corpse in her prison stored in a fridge (mod) to preserve it. Then after a few days I began devouring it in front of her.

The things you can do in Rimworld would put any horror story to shame.

Feed em to the pigs.

If you have flowing water on the map, make a dumping stockpile for stranger corpses there, being outside and in water will take care of it. Alternatively, enclose a dumping stockpile in stone walls with a stone door, when it's full of corpses, throw a molotov cocktail in there.

There's a few ways I deal with enemy corpses.

1) Place the Dumpzone in (preferably deep/running) water. This accelerates decomp.
2) Place the enemy corpses at the edges of the map (Not by roads, as visitors prefer roads). Having the corpses at the edge can potentially frighten invaders and send them into panic or moral depression.
3) Build Cremation Hut. A Stonewalled room with no ceiling and Stonedoor. Place bodies inside. When it's too full, send someone (Prefer Pyromaniac) with Torches, light the bodies on fire, automatic cremation.

I once had a large group of 20 enemies walk through my Enemy-Corpse Graveyard, get spooked, and start fighting each other. Saved me some hassle as my snipers picked on them.

I once held a pair of Pirate siblings and friends. Low on food and high on bodycounts, I began to forcefeed one sibling to the other and their friend after they died from their wounds. The corpses rotted for days to weeks, still forcefeeding the cadavers to them until they finally broke down and attempting to escape watched their best friend get their heart punched out of their chest before their arm was immediately sliced off.

I patched them up and kept forcefeeding them cadavers of their own friends and pirates. Other prisoners came and went, while they remained reaching a catatonic state of depression. They eventually came to and convinced others in attempting to escape from my prison. Fashioning a shank and making a break for the exit, they along with 4 others began fighting whomever was in their way. 2 of my prisoners were accidentally shot to death during the escape, the other beaten black and blue, leaving my main longterm prisoner waving a shank around violently for freedom. Eventually my main pawn came in and settled things by cutting off their hand.

2 Prisoners dead, 1 hospitalized, and 1 permanently handless. Needless to say they were beaten in the night for causing a Prison Break. Days later after they finally recovered, they found the courage to remove their own head.
There's many uses for them. Especially modded.

You can bury them yes. Under the Miscellaneous tab you can dig graves. Have to be done on dirt and not in water or stone flooring. Alternatively you can also build a sarcophagus too, but that requires materials to build and extra time to construct. But a small tiny mood buff can occur from that route... and your colonists may visit the graves if you decide to wall them off.

Personally though, if it isn't one of my colonists or a bonded pet I just haul them into a water spot and let nature handle the rest. That's at the start of the game. Later on I build a stone room and fill it with dead bodies. When it gets full up with dead bodies I chuck a molotov in there and shut the door. The fire spreads, the heat builds up, more fire spreads until every dead body is just ash on the floor. Then I will make it into a prison hospital in a pinch where once I remove the heart (or liver) there's no hauling to be done. Then molotov time all over again. And usually by this time I have a team of animal haulers who don't mind the corpse stink too much. But yeah, its the "fun" way to handle that problem. And it saves on the electric bill too!
I got into Rimworld by watching a let's play of a cannibal colonist. Now my colonists aren't cannibals, but I do turn my enemies into kibble

Butcher Table/Spot and then edit the butcher creature bill to include people as by default it's prevented. A cannibal colony can even eat their own lost colonists. Convient only needed one empty grave for every funeral.

No, probably the worse way to deal with them
1. with ideology DLC, get an ideology that is ok with cannibalism and just butcher them. My only problem with it is that if you want your colonists to be burried you'll have to micro manage your pawns otherwise it will be butchered and eaten in no time. You can set a grave to be for "colonists only", in the storage options. Anyway, this is by far the best way because you'll get a ton of rather expansive human leather, then you can make cloths out of it for mood buffs (because of your ideology), nice furnitures, unlimited food etc.
2. have a dump pile just for corpses, and use pigs/rats/whatever that eats meat deal with them
3. like 2 but no animals (:(), so it needs to be bigger. If it's full, you can burn it from time to time to make space. But really it's a waste of resource
