Raiding is unfulfilling
Are their any factions that are even worth raiding?

Show up to a base and I’m confronted with 10 peeps fully kitted out with machine guns rifles etc. and turrets everywhere. Kill them all and all I get as a reward is maybe a couple excellent pieces of clothes.

Total loot probably amount less than 1500 silver which could’ve easily been made with a few statues back home.

The risk is not worth the reward tbh

Makes ya wonder why raiders even raid you when you see the average base having so little to offer or maybe that's precisely why they raid you because you're actually the only base worth looting on the rim ... philosophical questions we can ponder over for ages.

But realistically speaking there probably should be tonnes of food that you can raid. At least enough to get you by for the next quadrum until you need to raid again. There should be enough resources, a bunch of components and other valuables that you can loot, maybe a few prize masterwork or legendary items if you're lucky. Exotic items, etc.

Really attacking a base should give you some of the best loot in the game.

But nope ... it's all just trash.

It’s just mind boggling that they can have that kind of military presence in such a small base and only have 3-6 survival meals to feed that said army

Raider bases are only camps that they regroup at to rest and get ready to fight again. we see that raiders and traders travel a lot so it wouldn't be too crazy to assume that they mostly camp out and make small bases that serve as checkpoints to rest at. most factions in rimworld are nomadic except for the empire which operates in space above the rimworld that you settled on that only sets up bases to do critical missions or collect resources

So then when I go to trade with them and they have all these resources and silver is that every faction just air dropping the resources in to trade from space?

Cause when I see what they have to trade at that certain location and what they actually have on hand after an attack it don’t add up

Anything beyond your own personally built settlement doesn't exist. It's all generated and limited to very fine parameters; hence why diplomacy and trade don't really exist.

The mod '' Rimcities '' adds faction large settlements and encampments, that is the one I use and it is quite enjoyable.

Also '' [SR] Factional War '' add events like outpost raids and defence opportunities to help out or hinder another faction.

I'm running it atm, Was hoping it would be more interactive but it does lead to some really fun combat encounters but you have to go out to them yourself. Haven't run into any bugs yet but not sure what I should be looking out for. I do like the one with 2 factions fighting in your territory, especially in my current zombie run as I have to either get out there and deal with the casualties or get a bunch of super zombies.

Several mods adress this, like large faction bases

Can't tell you if the balance is good, I use them but never raid factions

I do, and I use it with multiple mods for various races, I haven't had any noticeable issues with the mod

I recall reading that the game had some crashes when trying to load the outpost maps for defense. You could get away with it by having it automated but eh....

However this going off my memory from like a YEAR or so ago. Maybe that got fixed or it was another Outpost mod.

As for raiding; yeah kinda? Without mods(and even with some mods) most the time if I go raid a place, I tend to look at the resources of map than what it actually placed in the location. I found some components to mine or steel stuff to take apart? Sweet.

Hmmm going to disable it for a bit as some raids were giving me a notification of happening but nothing actually entered the map. Wonder if it's because of faction war, never happened before installing it.

If this game gets another expansion it should be concerning conquest of different factions.
