Psychic Rain
I recently encountered psychic rain in my colony. I can't find any information about it, other than the in-game description. I have no idea what it exactly does and wish to find out. Reddit seemed to have had the answer, but it's no longer accessible.

Read the descriptions of the mods you install before you enable them. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1938420742&searchtext=bloat+expanded+events

Thanks. As little as I was able to get from descriptions through Google, it appeared to be vanilla.

No, just Vanilla. As in, this event appeared in someone's unmodded game.

If you'd read the descriptions of the mods you use when you download them, you wouldn't have been confused.

In this case, it's really intriguing. I searched for an entry on the Rimworld wiki and found nothing. Myself, in over 1k hours of play, I don't recall encountering this type of event.

To be 100% sure, there is surely something, somewhere in the code that says exactly what the rule is. Let me get back you on this, I will check if I can find the answer in rw source code or in my install folder

For people wondering if I any player is allowed to decompile Rimworld executable,

Quote: The base game provides a bunch of code snippets in ../Source/, relative to your Rimworld installation. Since this isn't a lot, one might want to take a look at the game's full source code. RimWorld's EULA allows you to decompile the game for personal use. It's recommended to read it.

I checked for an entry in "GameConditions_Misc.xml", that I found under /../Data/Core/Defs/

and there is no entry for psychic rain

As example of event that would appear there, for reference; Solar flare, elipse, psychic drone, psychic soothe, toxic fallout, volcanic winter, heat wave, cold snap, flash storm, climate cycle, planet killer, aurora,

It really really really look like whatamidoing is correct.

OP, if you give us your mod list if any, we could help identify the culprit, if no mods, what game version are you running on?

It's not in the base game. Some redditor also didn't read what his mods did or even what mods he had loaded. I assume he's talking about this reddit post[webcache.googleusercontent.com] (have to link google cache due to the protest or whatever), the first result for "rimworld psychic rain" on google.

I'd say no need to be a snarky know it all, but this is standard behavior for you. I know I have a lot of mods and don't remember every little thing each one does. Human memory is imperfect. Except yours apparently, you're a perfect, all knowing super genius, or at least your posts imply that you think so.

Maybe try giving the answers without the superiority complex.

You should consider debloating your mod list, then. At the very least, you should have a solid grasp of what is vanilla and what is not, to avoid being sent on a wild goose chase by some random redditor. Reading mod descriptions is good for that. It's what they're there for. It's a bit annoying having to answer questions about mods I don't even use, but if I wanted to be mean I'd have just not responded.

Man, call you out for being a snarky know it all and you double down. ROFL. I should never have unblocked you. Fixing that mistake.
