either you get a storage with high priority so the people store the stuff first there, but then they usually wont move it to the other
or you add a storage with lower priority which means it will usually get ignored
In my current run my farm is also a bit off from the kitchen, I am currently preparing everything so I can just relocate
You could deal with it more precisely by selectively enabling/disabling storage areas and forbidding stacks, but that's a lot of micro for a probably small efficiency gain.
You restrict one of them so that they can't go to the kitchen storage (Thus they will haul things between the farm and the closer storage since its the only one they have access to).
Then you restrict the other so that they can't go to the farm, while having the kitchen storage as a higher priority storage (the others will thus haul things from the buffer storage to the kitchen storage since it has higher priority, but they wont haul directly from the farms since they don't have access).
If your farmers are doing the hauling from the farm i'd simply restrict their access to the kitchen (only the cooking/raw food area mind you, make sure they have access to a storage with food in it, they still need to eat). Then restrict everyone else's access to the farms.
