Prehistoric Biomes: Can Ephedra leaves really be refined??
My pawns are all genetically dependent on psychite, but I'm playing on a super hot map with a tribal start. I managed to get a crop of psychite leaves to grow to 50% before the season turned too hot for it to grow anymore.

A last-ditch strategy was to make the 2 day trip over the mountains to the nearby town, but they didn't have any form of psychite (no flake, yayo, tea, or leaves) which seems absurd, but they did have ephedra leaves, which is apparently added by the Biomes! Prehistoric mod.

Its description says it 'can be refined into various forms of the stimulant drug psychite'. So I bought a stack of it in the hope it would count as psychite for the genetic dependency, or at least be able to be refined into it.

Problem is that it doesn't appear to be refinable in any way. I have a drug lab with the psychite refining tech, but no recipes allow ephedra to be used. My pawns are all slowly dying, and I don't like their chances of surviving until the temperature cools enough for the psychite leaves to finish growing. Was the description of Ephedra leaves being a source of psychite false advertising?

If your pawns are dependant on psychite, they ought to have started with five doses in some form or another in their inventory. Tea, flake or yayo. Even on tribal start it's possible (albeit difficult, and depending on the settings very difficult) to research hydroponics before you run out. At a mimimum I'd say, speaking as someone who uses the psychite dependency custom xenotype themselves, you really REALLY need to ration your supply.

But to be fair that wasn't actually your question. I confess I don't have experience with ephedra leaves. Very rough that you can't trade for any psychite, sounds odd. Mods can break, so, well...

Yeah I went to three different towns, and none of them had any psychite products at all. Not even flake.
I had to give up on the run because a flash storm destroyed my partially grown psychite crop, and it was my one last hope once the furthest towns didn't have psychite.
I suspect it is something screwy with the Biomes! Prehistoric mod swapping out the psychoid leaves for Ephedra, which doesn't allow me to feed the dependency, so I feel really cheated here. It would have been all fine if I'd been able to get a crop of psychite, but it was 65 degrees c on the map for half the year so no way it was going to grow during the hot season.
