If lightning strikes one of your robots, will that charge them up?

Does lightning striking an electric car jump start the battery?

No, of course it doesn't. Nor does it work in Rimworld. An uncontrolled surge of power like lightning is more likely to damage the electronics than charge the battery.

Average redditor moment. But thank you aside from the extra helping of autistic condescension!

If lightning strikes a creeper it charges them.

It doesn't charge them no, it doesn't damage them either though since lightning damage is fire and they are immune to fire. I actually tested it just now using the lightning strike dev tool because it actually would not have surprised me if it did charge them. Lightning strikes at night do cause solar panels to produce charge afterall.

I was about to speak in @Night Foxx's defense, but then I remembered that we're discussing a sci-fi game featuring psykers who can set things on fire with their minds and robots which are psychically linked or something and I lost interest.

But, but, I once read a short science fiction story where long after an apocalypse someone sheltered in the ruins of a holographic museum, and lightning hit the Winston Churchill exhibit which turned it on so he gave some good advice to the poor confused caveman!

its a miracle we have light bulbs... this experiment would not be possible nowadays... with all the regulations.
