colonists cant extinguish fire
pretty much the title, they stand next to a fire and "beat it out" but they are really just standing there. Its not posing much of a threat due to me have the metal doesnt burn mod but i dont want this to happen in future + dont want it to burn down all my trees and eventually burn down my mainly wood town

so i set the weather to rain and the fire isnt going out, so its a problem with the fire not my colonists

Use firefoam, its very easy to research and pop packs can easily be made with chemfuel. tell your colonists to stand by the fire then pop it to prevent an area lighting on fire as long as the foam debris stays on. firefoam can be used by pyromaniacs or any pawn incapable of firefighting and the packs can be scavenged off dead raiders that will never taint the packs. if the fire is huge, then the game will usually(not always) cause a rain event that will put out most of the fire but do be sure to put out everything as 1 fire tile can turn a whole map into hell

thats the thing tho, its a glitch, rain wont put the fire out + its not going down a single bit

Metal Don't Burn has others saying fires have been burning forever for them, at least in the past.

oh ok thanks, if you know, is there a way to put out fire instantly in dev mode? i dont wont to lose my colony to a glitch.

I'm unsure. Know how to set things on fire, not sure how to remove it. I have a distinct feeling it isn't just Metal Don't Burn but an interaction with some other mod, but it would certainly help if others with the problem had posted their mods lists. You could try disabling the mod, crossing your fingers and seeing how the game runs without it, but don't get your hopes up too far.

update: turns out i never had it, just the 1.4 compatibility patch, any other ideas?

In dev mode, go to "trigger explosion", then it should take you to a list of explosions and select "firefoam".

What the guy above me said, but also you can use regular frag grenades on colonists for future emergency use
