infestations are designed to be a mechanic that punishes cave bases, because it's really easy to defeat most other dangerous situations by living in a cave. many players simply disable them in the scenario settings if they don't like it, but i don't think you can do that with an existing save. just something to remember for next time if you really dont enjoy playing with them
yeah, some people might prefer infestations to the drop pod raids where 20 raiders just immediately appear inside of your base bypassing your outside turrets lol
The drop pods can't reach you if you're under a mountain. Otherwise, drop pods in your base is one of those instances where having good melee characters is really helpful.
